Opinions Required On My Crackpot Idea  HI EVERYONE, YOU MIGHT REMEMBER I ASKED FOR ADVICE ABOUT A NANO CUBE, WELL I DECIDED AGAINST THAT IN FAVOUR OF SOMETHING BIGGER AND HOPEFULLY MORE STABLE, ANYWAY HAVING LOOKED AT THE RED SEA MAX, I WAS RUSHED TO HOSPITAL WHEN MY WALLET WENT INTO SHOCK. SO IVE COME UP WITH THIS IDEA: TANKBUILD UK WILL BUILD ME A 55CM X 55CM X 55CM TANK FOR £95, GIVING ME 166 LITRES OF SPACE, FOR FILTRATION I HAVE PLANNED ON TWO HYDOR BRAVO 3OO HANG ON FILTERS ( www.hydor.com) GIVING ME HUGE BIO, MECH & CHEM FILTRATION FOR APPROX £70, THE TO HEAT THE TANK AND GIVE EXTRA FLOW AND MOVEMENT I THOUGHT ABOUT 2 HYDOR THERMO PUMP EKIP 300, THESE WOULD COST ABOUT £54, WITH ONLY MY LIGHTING TO DECIDE ON, IM LOOKING AT £220, MORE TO SPEND ON LIVE ROCK N STOCK, AM I MENTAL OR DOES THIS SEEM OK ?

no, good flow and live rock/live sand is great for filtration. Try not typing in caps, generally in forums in means your yelling ![]()

Instead of the hang on filters, I would suggest that you get some powerheads in your tank, perhaps some Hydor Koralia powerheads. They are cheap and efficient. On the hang on back filters, just be sure to change the filter media out regulary, as high no2 and no3 levels will be the cause of dirty filters. I would rinse/and or change them out at least once a week.
