Take a look at Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation Home Page. They have all sorts of packages depending on what type of algae problem you may have.

That is a cool site...but seems a bit expensive, I was looking at Saltwaterfish.com and they had some packages just like that but a lot cheaper....But I just dont know what I really need...Do I really need 40 crabs? Also it seems like some people get some of the crabs and then have a horrible time getting rid of them....HELP!!

thanks
Dan

Do you think that the GARF site is a good deal...good stuff? Anyone buy anything from them?

Thanks

What about this, anyone?

For his 90 gallon tank (and for my 55 gallon tank), what is a good assortment of cleaner crew animals?

Also I forgot to add, if you have an algae problem, one snail for every gallon of water. I forget where i read that.

I have purchased from GARF. I have heard several good things about them, but I will personally never order from them again. They sent me enough snails and hermits for 180 gallons and when i got them a third of them were dead. At the same time I ordered one of their frag packs and out of 7 only 3 survived. I sent several e-mails to resolve the problem but they just gave me the run around. So that is my experience with GARF.

I have ordered from GARF, and love what they send, no problems yet. Their janitor crews are great!

I prefer liveaquaria, if something dies, it is no hassel at all to get your money back. and on aquaculture they give a 30 day monet back guarentee! 15 day for non aquaculture!

A generally good assortment would be astrae snails, bumblebee snails, cerith snails, nassarius snails, red legged hermit crabs, queen conch, fighting conch, sea cucumber, possibly a brittle star. How many each? I have a new tank as well, a 110, and I will probably start with 10 each of the snails, and maybe 6-8 hermit crabs; just to see how they'll do. I don't want to have the tank overrun with crabs and I know some places want to sell you like 90 snails, and 50 crabs for like $150. If you need more, then add some. The stars will probably do the best stirring and cleaning, but if you have a DSB, the star will literally vacuum it until there is nothing left in it (so I've read). For myself, I am staying away from the stars as I would like the sand to aid in the nitrate reduction.

I had about 50 sanils and 50 crabs. They will eat eachother for bigger shells, so not im down to about 20-30 of each, and they still eat each other. I have a 55 reef. Sea cukes I would say are the best, and the coolest!
