Default Ready to get started!

Just got my tank and sump today along with heater and return pump. The skimmer and UV sterilizer are not in yet but they gave me a promisary note kinda thing on it since it was include in the price of the tank.

I am a happy camper today

Though now I want to suck your brains and get some answers. I am going to go ahead and start looking at ordering the LR and starting to get the tank cycled. I put the skimmer in when I get that.

Question.

I plan on having:

Sump (return pump)
Skimmer (in Sump)
UV sterilizer
Chiller
heater (in Sump)

at this point. What order should the sump, sterilizer, chiller, and return pump go in?

JEREMY

If you plan to add all of that stuff, plumb it all in first before adding water!

Are you doing the plumbing yourself? If so, buy a roll of Teflon tape or Teflon sealer and make sure you seal each piece of plumbing at every male-female connection. Failure to do so will cause leaking which will ruin your floor as well as drain water from your tank.

Yeah, I will be doing all the plumbing myself. Have done some plumbing work before. I am going to use soft tubing right now until I feel that the system is complete enought that I can hard pipe it with PVC.

I am going to put in a cut of valve on the overflow drain, so that I can add stuff later, I don't need the chiller or UV sterilizer to cycle the LR. So i figured I would go a head and work on getting it up to cycle. Figure why wait. The LFS said that they would have the UV Sterilizer and Skimmer by the end of the month or they would just go ahead and order me one and just keep the one that is designated for my tank.

Still not sure about the chiller I plan on putting a lighting rig on it with 2 250 MH so I am figuring that I will most likly need one. Not even sure about the UV Sterilizer yet was going to use it because it came with the tank but have read mixed reviews about them.

I am not buying one, it came included in the price of the aquarium rig that I purchased. Just have to wait for it to arrive.
