 What all do I need to start a saltwater tank? Hello everyone, I am very interested in starting a saltwater tank but I was wondering what I absolutely need to start a 40 gallon. I have no idea about saltwater, and I dont want to ask people at the store because they will probably try to sell me stuff I dont need. Thank you!  |

| Re: What all do I need to start a saltwater tank? Go to the Guides section. You'll find very informative information there. You need to decide what kind of tank you want - FOWLR or reef tank. Once you make that decision you can then determine what equipment you'll need. Read as much as you can & should you have any questions just post them & you'll get plenty of advice. We're not here to sell you anything - just want to see you succeed! Good luck!!

| Re: What all do I need to start a saltwater tank? Well I might get a 40 gallon octagon tank from my father in law. But can I use a regular 40 gallon octagon tank for salt water? I was told by the people at a store that sells saltwater fish that I can use any tank as long as I have all the stuff for saltwater. Is that right? |
