Default cloudy water

I have been in the process over the last few weeks of restabalizing a 100 gallon aquaruim. My elements are finally down to the levels they need to be except my water is cloudy. It has been clearing up over the last few days but I did add some fresh water today to accomidate the evaporation. I do use Aqua Nova to remove the chlorine and other elemts that could be harmfull to my system. But I am stumped as to why the eater is not clearing up. I thought maybe I had a bactreria bloom , but now I am not sure????????????

Chlorine Remover? Are you using treated tap water? You should use RO(Reverse Osmosis) Water. By using water from the tap a lot of things can happen usually high phosphates which in turn grow algae.
Can you give us your water parameters. Can you test for phosphates? Cloudy water not sure what could be causing this. How long has the tank been up and running and whats in it? Thanks!

There is nothing in the aquarium now. I had been seperated from my spouse for about 7 months and during this time he was trying to maintain the aquarium, but he did not know what he was doing. I am now back and trying to restabilize it. In the begining the salinity levels and nitrate levels where off the chart. Right now I have gotten my elemts down to salinity= 1.022,amonia= 0,nitrite=0,ph=8.2,nitrat e down to 10 ppm. I like to use products by Kent, I had been using poly-ox to help clear the water.

It is quite possible that your water source is the problem.

Why happened to destabilize it? That will give us more insight to a possible problem, although right now I'm assuming its your tap water.

To make a long story short, we had moved and me and my husband had been seperated for the last 7 months,He was trying to maintain the aquarium, but he was just adding the salt mix to the sytem directly, did not check or clean the two canister filters, and at the time we had a snow flake morey eel, that he would just love to feed would leave 3-4 silverslides as the eel would come up and take them and did not bother to scoop out any uneaten food. When I came back he begged me to straighten out the sysyem as he knew it was bad.At this point I have been able to get all of theelemts down to where they need to be,unfortunatly we did loose the eel as even this change was a shock to him.But I have never had a problem with cloudy water like I am now. I thought that maybe I had a bacteria bloom. I have added some more live sand as it has been a real long time since I added live sand and it seams that after my water changes or when I have added water that the aquarium gets cloudy. Am I being impatient and do I have to see this as a kind of restart of a new system???????????

Sounds like your system is just cloudy from all the nutrients. I would just continue doing weekly or bi-weekly water changes. The cloudiness may be from sand stirring up or a number of things.
