| Your tank will have to cycle before you really start seeing algae growth. Coralline algae takes a long time to see. Diatom, not so much. To jumpstart your cycle, I recommend adding a raw, cleaned shrimp to your tank (from the grocery store). This is probably the most humane yet effective technique. It does look like you have your work cut out for you this weekend. Do you have plans for chilling your tank or adding a fan across the water? You really want a stable temp at all times.
