Default Clams and invert (crew) questions

1, My live (indo-pacific) rock arrived with several empty clam shells on it. The shells are no more than an inch long. I would like to find live clams this size to add to my tank. I’m assuming they would live in the sand and help filter the water.
Is there such a clam for a reef tank?

2, Could use some invert (crew) advice. I added an emerald crab, nassarius snails, dwarf blue leg hermits (man do these little guys eat) and cerith snails. I would like to add –

Marble or orange star
Skunk or peppermint shrimp
Flame scallop
Clams (from question above)

Will all this live together peacefully?

Thanks
((Will add inverts one at a time over a few months))

New 65 gal (finished cycling 3 weeks ago)
Aqua C Remora Pro skimmer
90 lbs live rock / 65 lbs sand (20 live)
2x150 MH, 4 T5 96

No, the clam shells I see look just like the clams I eat raw or steamed only very small.

How big is your tank/how long has it been running for a star your tank has to be established.
I don't know about the scallop I will see what I can dig up on the web.

Here's my tank info -

New 65 gal (finished cycling 6/14)
Aqua C Remora Pro skimmer
90 lbs live rock / 65 lbs sand (20 live)
2x150 MH, 4 T5 96

I take things slow...research the livestock...add them one at a time..I'll add the star last. I'm also planning on adding a manderian fish but not for another 4 to 6 months.

I found several compatibility charts for fish but nothing of any value for inverts.

Hears some information that I found on the web (((Dr foster and smith)))
Scallops share a two-part shell with a hinge and foot, though they have no true head. All are filter feeders, requiring food designed for these types of invertebrates. This makes them somewhat more demanding in the home aquarium than their cousins the Tridacna clams. They require a sandy substrate or a large rock formation to find comfortable spots to rest and feed. Specialized foods and great water quality are required to successfully maintain these organisms in the home aquarium.(((Dr foster and smith)))

I have 4 cleaner clams, I put them in my tank and the next day they were gone, buried in the sand somewhere, they are supposed to suck up nitrates, don't know if that is true or not but they are kinda cool to have and hopefully they are doing there job! I got mine on saltwaterfish.com....they were on sell 1.99 each.

Well I thought my cleaner clams were doing great. I got home from work yesterday and one of the cleaner clams shells was open, on top of the sand and completly cleaned out. Very, very sad, but was glad it was only a 1.99.

well, starfish like to eat clams just to let youk now. thye will pry open the clam shell with their arms and spit their stomach out and eatthe clam alive. that is why when you go to the beach, there are empty clam shells all over, and hardly ever live ones.
