Default New Tank - Ocean Water

I have recently moved to the West Coast and left my freshwater tank back East. I am now intrested in stepping up to a saltwater tank. My question is am I able to use ocean water. I'm only about 20mins from the beach and would mind filling up a drum full of it to get my tank started. I also planned on buying one of those pre-made set ups.

ok well if u want to get ocean water u will have to try to get it far away from the coast so that u dont get any polluted water and it is up to u if u want fake or real ocean water but fake is easier since u know what is in it.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem as long as you went a few miles out into the ocean to avoid beach polluted water

Depends on what you want to spend. If you have the $$$, get the Red Sea Max - it has everything built in. Check out Aquapod & Cadlights. IMO Aquapods are better built than JBJ Nano Cubes. Bio Cubes are ok as well but I've heard of many people having trouble maintaining rear chamber water levels.
