| New to the Hobby (Getting Started/Setting Up) Think you can upgrade to saltwater? Your probably very confused, but remember ask questions and you'll get your answers on here! |

 Confused I have a 55 gal. FW tank and would love to transform it into a Salt water tank. I am reading and hearing very conflicting views on how easy/hard it is to do so. Nowhere can i get answers about whether I can clean my existing equipment and use it in a SW tank or do i need to start all over again with new equipment? Altough I don't know the differences between the types of filters, I have the type that hangs on the side of tank and has 2 filters in it. One is a charcoal packet that needs changibg every so often and another filter that gets washed out. I have a medium sized "bubble stone" that introduces air bubbles into the tank. can I use this type of equipment and change over to SW or what? Any suggestions would help.  |
