If you need to glue the rocks get the 2 part epoxy that's used to mount corals. You don't have to have light during the curing process.

I say yes on the lighting. Its not going to hurt things but you get a great jump on growing the stuff that you do want on your rock...

Axel,

You can use the 2 part putty which is easy but you can pull the rocks apart with a little pressure.

Easier yet and holds very good is to drill holes into each rock and use black cable ties to secure the rock. In a few months the cable ties become covered in corraline algae and are invisible.

or you can use what I use. Sakrete Hydraulic cement + crushed oyster shell. Careful when mixing it though because it is very alkaline and can burn your hands. It mixes at a PH of about 12-13 and hardens in about 3 mins. As soon as I get off my lazy butt I will post my build thread....if I ever get around to posting it.

Axel,

If going the epoxy route, it will cost alot of $$$ quick as things like the aquastik are pretty expensive, myself and a few locals to me, use what is called AquaMend, home depot or lowes sells it, its about $3.00 a stik, compared to the 8-9-10 for the others.

I've used it personally in my tanks a few times, it doesnt even make my skimmer go nuts as the aquastik would, says on the package water safe (fresh or salt)

Give it a try !
