| If you go fo one of the many siphon systems you need to get one that is self priming. Or In other words dose not lose its siphon . Then make shure you only set it 1" to 1 1/2" deep in the tank. Then when filling you sump for the first time leave it short of full by 3 to 4 gal. mark where the watter is with tape on the out side then start the siphon when it stops mark the spot again . Then the distance between the two pieses of tape is the amount of space you must make shure you leave at the top of you sump . If you keep your watter level the same in you sump and don't over fill your tank you will never have a problem. The only thing that can cause a problem with a siphon systems is the operator if you trust your self you can trust the siphon systems. Ps I said this for a 55 gal if you have a larger tank you will need to allow more room in the sump . you can figure how many gal. with tape on the display tank gust see how many gal. it takes to change the watter level 1" to 1 1/2 " |
