So is it the size of the substance I should be worried about? I have reason to believe it is Coral but it is really small. Smaller then the lfs that has lots of gobies. At the store the gobies are able to pass it through themselves when looking for food and mine is a little smaller then the lfs. So if its the size i think i will be ok.

yeah, if your LFS has bigger stuff an the gobyss do fine, then i think youll be fine too, you may just need a thicker sand bed.

You should be able to mix a finer substrate into that.

Just because a 17 year old at the store has a name tag that says manager doesnt mean he knows what he is doing. Moral of the story...You dont need a tag it means jack didley

LOL
Once when I was an undergrad I took this geography test (more of disaster planning course). It was one of the hardest. I mentioned as much and added that I was just steps away from climbing into the big KFC bucket and picking people off of the highway. The professor was concerned. I had to sit there and listen to him go on and on about whether he should have called the cops. I don't even think anyone could get in that bucket.

You have the correct sand, it is NOT, I repeat NOT crushed coral, its sand, I use the same sand in my 90, I have another 150lbs of it on my floor towards my 300lbs goal for the new tank, same excact stuff..

you'r in the clear "yay"

PS: stay away from that LFS, if they cant tell the difference between reef sand and crushed coral, I'd hate to hear the advice they give...

Ya I talked to my buddy at the store. There is a new rule. When I go to the LFS dont listen to anyone except my friend. Can you believe it was the store manager that called it crushed coral. I hate people. My blood pressure has to be 150/95. People are dumb. Thanks guys
