Default Some slug killed one of my crabs

Today I noticed one of my crabs had something trying too get in his shell. I left it alone and later looked and seen some slug looking thing leaving that area and the crab half out of his shell but still alive.

Then I looked and my crab had died.....I think the slug snuck in and killed it but I am not sure. I have like 5 or 6 slug looking things in my tank that come out after dark, I caught one and brought it too my local fish store and we identified it as a good ceno....something.

But the other guy at my fish store sticks by the rule of if you didnt put it in the tank you should remove it from the tank.

So I am wondering peoples opinion on if you get a few things that are hard too id from pictures would/should you just remove them???

I mean most of the slugs I got from live rock just crawl around the glass at night and dont seem to bother anything but I dont want some rouge slug killing my crabs.

Better yet is their anything I can put in my tank that will naturally just eat all of them?

I generally try not to take stuff out of my tank unless it is absolutely necessary. I have never heard of a slug eating a crab. Maybe another crab got to it and the slug was investigating? Can you provide a picture???

Are you sure the crab is dead & didn't just molt?

Yea he is dead......but what is molt? I assume it is when they leave a ecoskeleton?

I seen what looked too be something trying too get into its shell and its re-end hanging out but then I had too go. When I came back the crab was half out of its shell and a slug was crawling away. The crab never went back into the shell though and well died.
