Default Refugium on a biocube 29 gallon lighting question

In another post I explained what I did and how I got to putting the refugium in the back middle chamber where the bioballs were... My question is lighting.. I have dropped a bag of copepods in and some mangroes with some live rock. How much lighting would one need? Do they make a light where you could stick to the back maybe something small and round where I could still have my tank up against the wall? The area in question is about 10-11" deep and 7-8" wide... the water is only up that about 3\4 the way up maybe less. If you need a diagram Ill do my best to make a quick drawing.

nanocustoms.com has a few options using LED lights that you can mount back there. I'm using a small 9 watt aquarium light similar to this that I got a Petco for $10.

Easy Refugium Fuge Light for the Nano Cube - Nano-Reef.com Forums

**if linking to another board isn't kosher then let me know and I'll just link the pictures**

right now I've just got it clipped onto the powercord for the lights. There is quite a bit of light spilling around the tank so I still need to come up with something to keep that to a minimum.

Did you shave off the paint from the back of yours as well?

my Aquapod wasn't paint, rather a stickyback vinyl similar to a single wide piece of electrical tape. I took my pocket knife and sliced where I wanted to remove and then it peeled right off in one piece.

I ordered a bag of cheatomorpha from someone through a classified on a forum and it should be shipped out today and arrive in the next couple days. I'll take a couple pictures then. I paid $10 shipped.

Cheato isn't leafy, it's stringy and grows in a 'wad' kinda like a brillo pad.

I've got probably +3 pounds of live rock (I bought a 5 pound piece and beat it with a hammer and put the bigger chunks into the back) and I'll put the cheato on top of that. We'll see how it goes. My goal is to use NO mechanical or chemical filtration once it's finally up and running well. It will take a little bit of time to get it 'just right' but I'm hoping I can find that natural balance of fish/corals (to look pretty), detrivores/scavengers (to eat the waste before it rots), algae cleaners (to keep algae growth in check), live rock to convert whatever ammonia is created to nitrite/nitrate) , algae (to use and remove the nitrate), etc.

Sorry to bring up an older thread but I have a quick question about this 29 Gallon BioCube mod.

Salt-lick - I noticed in the picture it looks like the water if into your 2nd chamber from over the top, but the BC has the overflow in the first chamber. Did you do any mods to that as well?

The backing on my new BC seems more like Vinyl. Did you have to scrape it off, or did it peel ok for you.

Also, how's your fuge running? Macro's still growing ok?

If you or anyone has some more mod pics of the fuge, I am setting one up and could always use another pic

Thanks

I sold my friend my cube and helped him scrape off the stuff, he pretty much just put the chaeto in the middle and put a light on the back. Bam. Quite simple
