| If anyone knows what type of stuff this is in my fuge, I would appreciate it if you could tell me. I got it from a friend who uses it in his fuge, and he says it works VERY nice. He couldnt remember what it was as he has a 40 gallon tank of this stuff that filters out his tank along with some fish and hermits and snails in it.. He has had it running for over 2 years like that but couldnt tell me what it was ![]() Here is the link to my picture ![]()

| Maybe a shot in the dark but im thinking Caulerpa Mexicana. They grow well with strong lighting but it doesnt look like you have it. How fast has it been growing |
| ||||
| yup looks just like that Tonz, except it has little bubble pods on it floating near the top

| They grow well in large tanks and with MH lighting. Great for the tank. |

| So you guys pretty sure thats what it is? I mean the pic in Google looks just like that except the missing bubblepods that look like fisheggs.

| I belive its from the caulerpa family either way may be some variation. I would too go with the chaeto. Free is free but you can find that stuff for cheap. |
| ||||
| okay, Where can one find some chaeto? I dont know if my lfs sells that.. I did also put something in the tank called reefpods.. its a silver bag with a fingernail sized portion of algae looking stuff that says copepods and that it was live and was packed in seawater and said sell by 2 weeks. My lfs said it was good for refugiums, if you knwo what THAT is do you think it will reproduce?

| If you ask your LFS they could get you everything.Mine gives me a 30% discount if I pick it up from the truck. I see a lot of that on ebay. It grows so well tank owners cut it down to have every few weeks. AND copepods live in it... |
| ||||
| Copepods somethign you have to physically put in the fuge? Or something that grows with it?

| It grows and feeds off of the chaeto. It will be food for you fish. Its essential for green mandarines |
