Default Powerheads for water movement in my Marine Tank?

Hi everyone. I haven't been here for a while, but I do have a question....

I want to have more water movement in my tank ( 55gal) and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions as to powerheads they use for this purpose? I am looking at Zoo med Powerheads that have the back and forth movement....any suggestions are welcome

Thanks in advance.

They work to give you a random pattern but do require cleaning every so often to keep them moving back & forth. If you have the money, Hydor Koralia are very good & move a ton of water. The old reliable MJ are good too. You can also get a flow deflector that goes on the output of the ph to get random flow patterns. The MJ 1200 move a good amount of water but at the price of using 20 watts of power & can add unwanted heat to your tank.

I would personally not do the swivel style power head. I would just go with two stationary power heads. In about a month the swivel feature breaks unless constantly maintained like glampka said already.

I have a Hydor Koralia 1 & 3. I'm very happy with them.

I've been looking at the Hydors. I will probably go with them. It's just a matter of cost and where to get them online.
