Default Base Rock

I WANT TO START GETTING AND ADDING ROCK TO MY 55 GALLON ,, I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS 2 TOTES OF OLD LIVE ROCK THAT HAS BEEN SITTING IN HIS BASEMENT FOR ABOUT THREE YEARS,, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON MAYBE USING THIS A BASE ROCK,, DO YOU ALL THINK THAT IT WOULD BE SAFE IF CLEANED UP AND SOAKED ,, OR SHOULD I STAY AWAY FROM THIS THOUGHT THANK YOU :confused:

It will need to be scubbed and cured again. Do not do this in a tank with fish or corals. Suggest curing it again plus adding some live rock from a different source. DO NOT add uncurred rock to a tank with fish or coral.

I would scrub it down in vinegar + water and then let it cure again. Using it as base rock is a great idea though!

i have no corals and two clowns in the tank so i will scrub and cure the rock first thanks again for the help:rolleyes:
