| That looks great to me. Good job. |

| How high will the return water be going & how many 90 degree elbows? You might want to consider a stronger pump if you want a 10X flow through the sump. For every elbow, you add 1 foot of head. Take a look at what the pump will be pushing at different heads: Danner Supreme Mag-Drive Aquarium Water Pump/Powerhead Good choice on the skimmer.

| looks good IMO, but shouldn't the baffles going from the skimmer section to the return be the other way around?

| Thanks, that's what I thought too. But I was told the other way. Easy fix though since nothing is built yet. I have the baffles cut at 8" high. Is that too high?

| Two things about the second drawing.You might consider useing 1 inch pvc because you might not get much flow from 1/2 inch.I would also consider the idea of feeding the system from a third bulkhead near the center of the tank about 6 inch's below the static water line.With this configuration you could get about 1000 gph out 4 outlets.Then use your regular return for another 600gph.For a grand total of 24.6 x flow.this is exactly the system that I have calculated out for sweeties 65.I am also going to keep both pumps out of the water to reduce heat transfer to the water.You can also put loc lines in the fittings inside the tank to direct the flow righ where you want it.If you split the regular return line into two loc lines you get 6 points of flow.And its all done with no pumps in the tank or sump. |

| Glampka, 4ft plus 2 elbows, rest flexible tubing. - Up to 9 inches for the skimmer. Nativevaman, no bulkheads, it's a lifereef overflow (HOB).

| I would be on my way to the lfs with 100$'s in my hand lol.Go get it drilled. |
| ||||
| That would be perfect for the EV-180 which needs 9" so 8" plus water flow of 0.5-1" equals the 9" max. BTW, how talk are the sump walls going to be? you may be able to go higher with then baffles and build a stand for the skimmer. That's what I did. My sump is 16" high and my baffles are like 12 inches which means more volume and still plenty of room for overflow in case of power failure. Also the EV-180 is not that tall 20" I think (0.5" needed for cup removal) and I have like 24" under the tank. Just a thought.

| cela vie its a 20 long only 12 high. It's all I could fit and still have access to. glampka, I could drill the sump and run a mag 12 externally, leaving only the mag 7 for the skimmer in the sump, and no pumps in the tank. ![]()
