It all depends on your budget.

I have a 55g reef tank, and a 30g lionfish tank, the lionfish tank was cheap to set up, only costing me a total of maybe 4-500 dollars.

the reef tank however, im around 4g's now.

like i had just said, it all depends on your budget.

well, you can definately stay in a reasonable price range with a 55.

When i had started my tank, i was listening mostly to my lfs(they only want your money)

check ebay and craigslist for tanks, proteins skimmers, uv sterilizers, everything before you buy something from your lfs!

also, check the prices at online stores like drsfostersmith and marine depot and whatnot.

aquatraders is a good site to get lights at.
