Default CPVC is it ok?

I was looking at CPVC fitting and pipe for use in my sump supply and return lines. Does anyone know if it is safe for marine use? I know that CPVC stands for chlorinated poly vinyl chloride, the chlorinated part caught my eye and has me wondering. It has a much thinner wall than sch.40 PVC, which would make it easier to hide.

It's fine. CPVC piping which is suitable for hot and cold water distribution has a 400 psi pressure rating at room temperature, and a 100 psi pressure rating at 180 F.

Thanks, that "clorinated" had me worried. Had tank drilled last night, going plumbing shopping today.

why would you want to use CPVC? is the 4mm in pipe circumference that you'll be shaving off by using CPVC vs. sch40 PVC really that noticable? a thinner wall = less durable. plumbing does get brittle over time. i'm not saying you will have issues, just saying i don't see the benefit.

if aesthetics are the issue, i wouuld go the opposite direction and use sch80, which is dark gray and far less noticeable.
