Default how long should i keep my lights on

i have a 55g tank with 2 anemones,1 coral (polyps) and 4 fish. i just got my new lighting (48" 65w 4 lamp). how long should i keep the white lights on? should i keep the blue actinics on all the time even with the whites on? i currently leave my whites on about 8hrs with the atinics, after whites go out should i leave the actinis on all night till the whites come on or just for a couple of hours then turn all the light off. if so how long should they stay off?

You want the whites on for around 8 hours. Turn the blues on 2 hours before the whites & off 2 hours after the whites go off.

The reason why no one else has responded to your question is because Gary is absolutely, without a doubt or question, correct.

light's, let me get to the first part. you shouldn't have anenome's under pc's in first place. they need considerably more light than that. and becareful you didnt get a condie's they will kill your fish and any coral's they touch. amount of light time is based on type of light's and what you have living in your tank. and you dont need to have antic's come on 2 hr's before sunlight bulb's. it wont hurt nothing, but it is electric and heat. mine come on a 1\2 before second stage bulb's. i myself am running 3 set's of t5's and have them all staged a half hour apart
