Default marine paint for sump area?

I built my own stand and want to paint the inside (sump area) to help protect the wood. wanted to use marine paint but can not find it locally. Can I use a good quality water proofing paint or do I have to use marine paint? I will also use it to paint the back of th tank. If I need to use marine I will order it online. Thanks for all input. PEACE

All you need is a high quality paint with a mildewcide. If you can find it, oil based based would be perfect. Be sure to let it dry thoroughly so you don't inject any of the fumes into the water.

There's a spray can paint under the label "FUSION" that is at a lot of hardware stores. I read about it on another website when they were talking about painting the inside of tanks and base rock.
