| New to the Hobby (Getting Started/Setting Up) Think you can upgrade to saltwater? Your probably very confused, but remember ask questions and you'll get your answers on here! |

 Custom Tank Lighting I am building a custom tank for my first reef which will only be 16 inches tall and will be about 70 gallons with a 35-40 gallon sump. Would 260watts like this: AQUARIUM LIGHT 48" JEBO 260 POWER COMPACT W/ FANS LEGS - (item 250150599865 end time Aug-09-07 07:49:51 PDT) .....Be enough for a variety of corals to thrive, even if I place the ones needing more light closer to the surface of the water. If this is not enough light would adding a Full Spectrum 100watt incandecent light benefit the tank at all? Thanks  |

| Re: Custom Tank Lighting it would be enough for some mushrooms, zoo's, and leathers. for most of the hard corlas being close to the light may make a difference, but i would guess not. i would also avoid the incadesent bulb because it will more then likely cause a lot of algae growth.
