Default what return pump?

so my diy overflow box isnt workign out so well, so ill be purchasing one from aquatraders.

and i know if i get a overflow that overflows at 600gph, that means i will need a better return pump than my fluval 404 canister filter.

so im wondering if there is a pump that will be suitable for a return pump on aquatraders or ebay.

PS....im not looking to spend loads of money. i would like to spend less than 30 for hte pump.

Buy cheap - end up paying more in the long run when you have to replace it in short order. Get yourself a Mag drive - either the 7 or 9.5. Remember you get what you pay for.

i know, but i have gotten cheaper pumps in the past, and they are still going strong.

i know i know i know, you can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink.

but i will be needing a new pump shortly, and most likely it will only be temporary unitl i can get a better one, so im looking at this one:

Odyssea WP-700 Water Pump - 601004

anyone have any experience with these?

i have had good experiences with the coralife turbo sea pumps. quiet, sturdy and availalabe in recirculating and high pressure models and a # of different sizes. reasonably priced as well.

Elliot, if you do not mind me asking, where are you going? You seem to have a lot going on for someone who is "leaving".

ok, so what about this bad boy?

Odyssea WP-1000 Water Pump - 601006

basically, it needs to go up 9", then make a 90 degree bend and go sideways 9", then make a 90 degree bedn upward and go up 30".

that will then connect to my spray bar whish has 2 outlets on front and back and one on each side.

how does that all sound?

what size plumbing should i use for the return line?,

Let me just throw my 2 cents in and say: 700 gph will do what you want it to do but with the spray bar and 2 tubes you might want to take it up 50gph or so. spray bars aren't any good without pressure behind them. I have always used a seperate pump for spray bars.

I concor with Gary !

Mag Drive !

For your tank I think the mag 7 would be a good choice.
