I am seeting up a 120gal tank and am currently looking for a great place to purchase live rock. I live in NJ but I am willing to travel, to a degree. I would rather pay for better live rock than to get a lesser grade and then put shipping on top. Any ideas?

I will have to call them up and see how their prices are on Live Rock. Since this is about an hour Drive from my house, it might be worth the trip. Has anyone else used this place before? what sort of prices and quality of Livee rock did you get? Thanks!

3.99 for fiji it is pretty well cured depending on how busy they have been! Its a great store worth your trip and Gas!

I bought mine from a guy on ebay. Its amazing stuff. 2.60 a lb shipped! its $145 for 50 lbs or $260 for 100 or more

I just bought 50 lbs off of same guy!!! shoulld be here on friday. He has a perfect feedback for his LR and he replys to all emails pretty quickly.

Nothing like being able to pick your own rock. Not that opening a box, Smelling rotten eggs and being surprised is not fun either. It's also nice to have rock that has already started curing!

Last walt smith that I boght online was nice, arrived fast, smelt very fresh, Not like eggs at all, and only took about a week to cure. I am more happy with it than the LR i bought for $7.00 a lb from my LFS.You just have to becareful who you buy from look at there feedback and ask questions from ppl who have purchased it from a cretain retailer.

I agree with you JV. Picking out your LR is great. But getting my rock for 400 bucks less was 400 more I could spend on fish and corals and what not. My rock was amazingly fresh and I had no issue at all. It was a new tank and the first time I tested my water on day 11 there were zero of anything in the water...

LR came in today,Camera bat is out so couldnt take pics, Smelt fresh Packaged nice still good and wet, Nice sized also.

Hey Joe,

I went with cured. It cycled my tank faster but its totally up to you. You will get lots mor goodies with uncured. But that means you will get unwanted things also. Here is the guys link. Its cured Fiji LR, he got it from ebay its the same stuff i got...

oops lolhadjust got done reading one ofhispost when Iwrote that LOL, sry bud Thank You for teh leadIcant wait to get it intoteh tank, Now I amtrying to figure out how im gonna place it once it cures. Thinking a pile coming down from each back corner to front, and then a good size pile in the middle of tank, I have enough to do a full rear rock wall just afraid of bad water flow behind it.
