Default Pictures of my sump - What else do I need to make a refugium?

Here are some pics - if they are not clear - it's a 3 section system. The first has 2 pipes coming in each with a pump. It has a skimmer and a powerhead. The other 2 sections have a "sock(?)" and 2 tubes going back into the tank.
What do I need to make it a refugium?
Where does the LR go?
Should I keep the socks?
What upgrades do I need to make?

Picture one is my skimmer with the powerhead.

Picture two show the two sections with socks

Picture three is incoming to the skimmer

picture four is as much of an overview as I could get

Thanks for the advice!

I'm gessing the socks are conected to the overflows. I made a pic of what I would do . But take in to fact that there are a lot of other way's. Look at this link to get some idea's
Melevsreef.com | Acrylic Sumps & Refugiums

Here is what I would do . You could drill holes in rather then cuting just make them the same height as the other balkheads . Like I said before I'm not saying it is right but what I would do.
