Default Algae

I am new to the saltwater world have a 50 gal. 75 lbs live rock, pengiun HOB filter, and aquaC protien skimmer. I have had the rock in the tank for about 3-4 weeks. Last week I bought a few chromis. All my readings are well within range except my Nitrates went up a little after adding the fish. My question is this I already have what appears to be hair algae growing on one of the clams that was attached to the live rock. What is this best way to treat this. Or with it this early in the game is it something that might go away. Was thinking of buying some crabs. I don't want this to get out of control. Any Thoughts

Sounds like diatom bloom from the tank cycling. A clean up crew will definitely help. What color is it? Brown? Got a pic of the tank/algae?

Every time you add or take out something you will have some sort of small cycle.Like earth quake after shocks. Not much to worry about so dont get excited. Also the algea thing is all part of the cycle,It happens to everyone, toss in a cleaning crew and all will be well.
