the angel might not be a great idea either. 30-40 gallons minimum for them!

Don't forget how pricey the 180 is going to be...You might want to start with a 55 or something so you can get the reef started. These are my plans because I plan on getting my tank established in my 55 and actually was looking at a nice 180 at my LFS too...That's a couple years down the road after I've farmed some of my own coral so I won't have to buy so much and have such a bare tank with a 180...

Yeah, I've got the same problem here but have even got the girlfriend to start liking the hobby so she has started contributing to the 55 gallon and I've gained some xenia, ricordea and other colors of mushrooms, and also some star polyps...That's all I think you gotta do is get her interested in it...

It also helps when you tell her you don't have any money for dinner on the weekend because she realizes that you've been putting money into your new reef aquarium that is just getting started...

heres my idea.......Include your lady in every thing that has to do with the tank/tanks go small like you did...then a 55gal make it pretty for her then .uh oh no more room hun..so maybe slip the bigger tank idea in her head like im gonna lololol
dont let it brake ya take things slow your lady will be much more happy
