Get an ASM for a lil more money and you wont have to replace it or constantly tinker with it to dial it in...

I agree, there are plenty of other skimmers out there that your work much better for not much for money if you can find a used one. Some good brands to check out without spending a ton of money would be Euro-Reef, ASM, and AquaC. Other brands that are good, but cost more as well would be Deltec and H&S.

deltec is way out of my price range. anyone know where i can get a good used one at?

I have been looking on ebay. anyone have one here they want to sell?

I agree, Aqua C makes an exceptional skimmer and from what I hear so does ASM. I have an Aqua C EV 120 and I love it.

Outside of eBay or Craigslist you might want to check your LFS store boards for anyone that may be getting out of the hobby. However, beware that some of these skimmers may have stress fractures or lose pipe fittings due to abuse by the owner. I would lean towards saving up and getting some new iwith a warranty personally.
