thank you...im trying..its been a tough 5 months...lol... i was using a power compact 4 x 96 watt lighting system....the metal halides are insane...its like watching my tank in high def...everything is brighter, the glimmer is sick...i couldnt' eb happier...i haven't had a heat problem either....the only thing is the ballast get really hot...they worry me..but other then that...im excited to see if i can get some good growth now.....the corals today are all fully expanded and look better then they have..i was way under with the lighting before..

Looks like you got yourself a fairly nice sized elegant there. Watch it closely. I had one that did really well for 6 months and then all of a sudden it decided it had no desire to do well anymore and died off. Hope the best for ya on it. Everything looks real good anywho. Good Job.

Seeing your tank and hearing you phrase the Halides has just made my mind up as far as lighting goes when I get my tank. Thanks for the insane pics and also your feedback.

thanks man, i gotta say it hasn't been easy...i have been responsible for the deaths of many creatures over the past 5 months...well...i can say for the past 3 i have gotten the hang of how to take care of a saltwater reef tank....its a big jump from fresh to salt...and i learned the hard way......i have seen t5's , powercompacts and halides....t5's are great as far as the electric bill and heat go..but there is just something about the shimmer effect and the just look of the tank that i can't explain of metal halides......i ahven't been able to capture it on camera, i dont know the right settings but, its amazing....nothing comes close...its been a rough 5 months...hte tank was actually effecting my mood...when things were going bad...i was pissed off...lol....im sure people here can releate....

I can relate believe me. I know it's not the same thing but my cat has been acting all out of whack recently and my cat's like my best friend, so her being moody has affected my mood. Believe me when I tell you having pets is no small feat.
