Default one last question

Ok, I now have everything I need to get my 75 gallon tank going with my 55 gallon sump, picked up an octopus 110 protein skimmer, clean the tanks well. My question is in the sump on the last stage where the protein skmmer goes the return water hose is laying in that section. the one end is connected to the bottom o my display tank and the other end is just laying in the sump. the length of this black flexable tubing is only long enough to where it hangs mid way into the sump. how do I connect the return pump to this black flexable tubing? the diameter of the black flex tubing is wider than that needed or the pump plus its not long enough to let the pump sit on the bottom where the pump would sit? what kind o tubing can I use or going rom the pump to the tubing? All this while keeping a good seal.
