lilli... i would try using some sort of calcium hydroxide... this has a 90% phosphate reduction rate according to a study i read the other day (which, conviniently, i cant find again)... but adding chems like that can harm other things... i refer to the wise words passed down to me about marine care... when in trouble or doubt, change the water... scrape the algae, vacuum that junk up and put clean water in... u leave some algae to see if its actually reducing the phosphates... hopefully this works for ya... remember, change the water every 2-4 weeks minimum, especially in a reef tank... i use just hang on canisters and a water change can save alot of hassle, and money at that.... |
