Default 1st coral starburst polyp

Heres a cool pic under actinic pc light:

Now the guy at my lfs told me that feeding plankton wasnt necessary, is this true? Also, do I have to have an hour of darkness between daylight and lunar lighting?

Well I just got one too, and my LFS who specializes in soft corals and polyps (he farms them, and sells them himself) told me if I wanted the best growth and color I should feed plankton everyother day or so. Good luck!
