I would just ask him if he ever used copper in the tank.

I plan on just setting up live rocks and fish for now, but I am sure I will eventually want to have coral. I couldn't find anything on the brand either, which is kind of worrisome.

In general what is a good price for a used 55 gallon tank? There are a lot on craigslist in my area. Prices range from $75 for just a tank to $350 for complete setup with a sump.

I like the 55 gallon better. Ask for some pictures of the sump and post them on here. I am just curious as to see what shape the sump is in.

Usually a larger tank is easier to keep....so I would go with the 55 gallon. It looks like a good deal, but you'll most likely have to upgrade the lighting.

Alright, I am asking for a picture of the sump setup. Hopefully it looks good. I really want to setup a sump system but setting it up from scratch is going to hurt the wallet. Will the lights be ok for just live rock and fish?

Thanks for the help!

Not nearly as much equipment though.

$350.00 sounds like a fair prise,( but) it depends on how much money you have to put into it to make it work.

I'm figuring I will spend about 1k. Luckily there is a whole sale place close buy for live rocks and sand. Is the pro 150 wet/dry filter a good system? I'm starting to think I might just build my own sump setup. I'm really glad I found this forum. A lot to learn for the beginner!

55G TrueVu Plexiglas fish tank with wet/dry build in.

Alright here is another one. To get this going I would need, skimmer, pump, heaters, lights and some way to get the water moving?

My head is still spinning trying to figure all the options out.
