Default 20G update

Ok, so here is how my update on my 20G reef. I have 20# of LR, 20# LS and 130watt PC light. Its been set up for 6 weeks. I had no spikes no speak of. I added 3 hermit crabs and 3 astraea snails when my brown algae bloomed. Then I added a firefish, its what my LFS recommended, it live for 5 days and just died all of a sudden. Then last week I had lots of green and red corralline algae all over the rocks. So, the other day I added a lawnmower blenny and he LOVES it in there. Now I need to work towards 2 clownfish and an anemone. I want either 2 true percula, or 2 occelaris. What anemone would be good with the clowns, 130 watts of light and 20G??

Sounds like your doing a good job at taking it slow and trying to do things right. The first fish added almost always causes a minor, second mini cycle of which may have gotten to your firefish. You shouldn't have any more ammonia or nitrite spikes anymore though. Regarding an anemone with the lighting that you have, the only anemone that I would recommend would be a bubble tip anemone (BTA). Most of them don't get huge, but they will still usually grow to about 4"-6+" around before splitting so they will take up some room in your tank. I've had them get as big as 14+" before splitting, but that is rare. BTA's are not a natural host for perculas, so you may need to be patient for a while. Most pers will eventually decide to host a BTA, but it may take up to 6 months or longer before it decides to host there. There are some tricks that sometimes work to get the perculas to host in a BTA quicker, but I'll leave that for some other time.

Awesome, I like the BTAs. That is what I was hoping to be able to get. I also forgot to add that I have a tonne of copepods. I dont know where they came from...but I heard they are good. I hope clownfish eat them....cause I dont like the way they look.

I had an insane amount of pods before adding two percs and now I only notice them at night.
