Default Turnover for sump

Wondering how fast my sump should be going. I have a 30gallon display tank, with a 25gallon sump. The sump has between 15/20 gallons in it. I'm wondering what kind of gph I should be trying to achieve.

a sump can have 1 million gph. it really doesnt matter. in mine, i have a 55g tank with a 20g sump, and have about 5-600gph in there. a fuge on the other hand only needs 1-300 gph depending on the size of the fuge.

If you have a 1 inch drain line you could move up to 600 gph thru the sump with the right pump.A smaller drain line would mean less flow.So the amount of flow would be up to you,but you will need to provide at least as much as your skimmer can clean.

Thanks for the feedback. I have 3/4 pvc plumbing currently and I was planning on a mag 7. I wasn't sure if a slower flow rate would be better for gas exchange and contact with the extra live rock/rubble section I have. But I guess it doesn't matter since it would just turnover the entire tank faster.
