Default Water changes???

I have a 150 gallon reef tank in progress i still have to add more live rock and corals. How ofter should i do a water change and how much each time?

You don't need to do any water changes until after your tank is setup and cycled. From that point on, I would say 10%, once a month is a good amount for a tank that size. For smaller tanks, I like to recommend 2-10% changes per month.

Hey Brain,
If you are only doing monthly 10 percent water changes do you think there will be more of a chance you will have to be dosing for all kinds of stuff? I do weekly 10 percent changes to replenish trace elements.

It all depends on your bio-load. The larger the load, the more depletion.

I have a 220gal tank and i do a 20gal a week RO water change, it keeps my tank looking great,
and I also have 175lbs of live rock in my tank.
