Well for the Price of these skimmers I can tell you they are well worth the money I installed ETSS 500 in a 180 Gallon and its great. Easy to maintain adjustment. An auto top off for sump is a good idea as water level in sump does affect it some. I think down draft skimmers are effective. I will use these again.

Easy removal of plumbing to clean collection cup

Just lift the hose attachement out of the chamber!

All components easily come apart for cleaning. There are thick rubber gasket seals.

Have a look at the Skimmate! Wish I could attach a scratch and sniff here.

What kind of water pump are you using? I have seen people using them, but would like to know where to buy one. Thanks

We are using mag 7 on the installation shown, 700 GPH the Skimmer says to use 500 GPH. But I believe that it would be to weak Maybe this is minimum pump recommended.

Jta That mag 1200 must need to be choked some to get proper adjustment how is that working out for you?

The large metal water pump in the picture is a mag 7?... My mag 12 is on full force and working great. I think I was trying to over complicate things at first with plumbing and causing problems.

There is a Iwaki Pump as main pump. The mag 7 is in the sump out of picture.
