Default Need fast help with Remora Pro Skimmer...

Turned on the skimmer after adding live rock last night. How do I empty the collection cup? Do In need to turn off the skimmer to do this? Also, should there be foam that looks like it is almost overflowing from the foam tower? Remora Documentation that shipped with it doesn't say much about operation. Thanks for any assistance.

Ok, maybe Tons can help me out on this one. I've read over the included documentation 3 more times. Still can't tell what is going on. Took the lid off of the collection cup with all the foam on top of it and emptied it. Left house for 2 hrs and came back and foam is all over top of the lid again. I don't think this thing is supposed to foam over like this. Can anyone confirm that has this unit? Tried the AquaC website, and the documentation there is the same as that shipped with the unit. Thanks for any help. Sorry, should have posted this in the equipment forum.

No just pull out that clear cup with a black lid. Then that black lid pops off. I spray it clean in the kitchen with warm water. Do this every 3 days for the best results. No you dont have to turn off your skimmer

Did a little black silicon ring come with the skimmer? You put that on the cup and make it so the cup sits up in the highest position at first. Then once it gets broken in you can make it so the collection cup sits lower if you like. I like a dry skim though.

Thanks for the quick reply. Going to adjust it now. Knew I had to be missing something. Skimmer rocks though with the Magdrive3! Thanks for recommending it to me. Thanks again for your help.

The lower that cup the more it will collect. The higher the cup the less water is collected. Did you rinse it in warm water when you first got it?

Yes, I rinsed it. So long term, I want to keep it lower correct? Thanks again for the help.

I have mine higher up. I like a dryer skim. I also like not having to empty it but once every 3-4 days
