Default rock is coming alive ,what is this?

This looks like a baby feather duster. It has the ability to open up and blossum, then it will suck itself back into the rock. there is no tube like a regular adult feather duster. Will these build those tubes? its very cool to watch these things most of my rock as at least a couple o these living on them. It is sort of a white and neon in color

When it sucks itself into itself do you see a tube or a hole? The first picture looks like a duster but the second picture looks like a polyp...

Yea, I have hundreds of little ones in my tank as well. Elliott I think they are hawaiian dusters as well. If you get several you can always trade some when larger. I have so many they are even starting to cover my DSB.

I am betting anything that those are just little serpulid worms. If they have hard calcareous tubes, that is what you are looking at. I have many white and some cool looking red ones.

becky may be right as well.

I guess it depends where you got your rocks form. if the rocks not from hawaii, the dusters not hawaiian.

I wish they were, but the guy I bought my live rock from told me the fight I was in for. He said he was trading 10-15 a month to his LFS before he took the tank down. They are the hawaiian dusters with soft tubes. I do have a few of the serpulids though in both colors.

The same as your run of the mill featherduster. Filter feeders. They will not hurt anything. Enjoy!
