 silicone can you just use any aquarium safe adhesive for gluing base rock together or is there a more better type to use?  |

| Re: silicone I always use gel type super glue, it works great and has a fast stick time.

| Re: silicone no, you need to take them out and dry the area to be glued on the coral and rock then let dry for 2-3 minuets. It wont hurt them to only be out a few minuets.

| Re: silicone You can not use any silicone for gluing rocks. Only use the ones that say "Safe for aquarium use" or similar wording. Most contain biocides, etc that are detrimental to your tank. Read the entire label carefully. Most also say not for continuous underwater usage.

| Re: silicone Personally I don't like gluing rock because if you ever want to change it around it is difficult. I would even try to use cyanoacrylate glues because the rock is too porous. If you want some stability, get a carbide drill bit for drilling concrete, ceramic tile, etc, drill a hole in the 2 pieces of rock & inset a plastic pin.
