How old is the tank? It just looks like it is cycling and the algae will eventually disappear. Turn the lights off for a few days if the tank is still cycling.

The cycle has a "phase" in it in where brown diatoms usually thrive for a week ro two and then disappear. If that isn't the case, are you using tap water? How often and how much do you feed?

When going to work, I would ask my daughter to turn off the lights in the tank and when I got home guess what they were still on. This happened more than a couple of times and my tank would start growing that same stuff on the bottom. So I would make sure I turned off the lights even though when I left in the morning it was dark.
I also had to consider where my tank was as far as how much sun came into the room not hitting the tank but how warm did the room actually get along with the lights being on. and the room was warmer than any part of the house along with the lights, the tank got a little warmer.

a lot of alge is not that bad. get some Astrea snails and nassarious snails. you need to get some sand sifting things. sand sifting starfish, dormia crab(that one is really fun to watch) and some of those nassarious snails.
also if it keeps up a sea urchin or two are kind of fun to watch and are good cleaners.
also watch the temp of the tank.

i would not worry about it to much...

ok if you are using tap water, then thats where all the phosfate is coming from. phosfate is what causes algea. I can only recommend you two different things that can help you prevent it. If you whant to get rid of it you will provably need liquids and they might harm invertebrates.
the phosban reactor will remove phosban. you can also add the phosban media to canister filters.
Aquarium Algae & Phosphate Control: PhosBan Reactor 150
Phosphate Removing Aquarium Filter Media: PhosBan
And a UV sterializer that will kill algea bolms so you will not have green water. it will also kill bad diesieses like Ick. you migjt whant to get and algea eating animals like yellow tang, crabs ect..
Aquarium UV Sterilizers: Control Algae, Parasites, & Bacterial Diseases

I think it could be a flow problem too along with the other things mentioned.
