Default Blue Hippo Tang?

i would like to get a blue hippo tang, i went to one of the local shops today and a couple were scraching against rock i asked the guy about it and he said that it was normal and that they had ich and that he had not seen a blue tang that had not had ich...so in conclusion i guess my question is Are blue tangs ich prone and if so what is a good trustworth place to get them online??

Hi,

Yes they are all prone to ich.

I can't tell you of a place to purchase online...sorry.

I can share my "blue hippo story". I purchased when my tank was only 6 months old was very small and did not last longer than a week (I still had alot to learn).

Now my tank is over 2 years old (still learning everyday) and I purchased an extra large one over a month ago that is doing AWESOME!

couple of hints...she will need peaceful tankmates (would be great if they were smaller than her). Balanced diet with plenty of garlic soaked nori and PERFECT water conditions.

Hope that helps a little...

Jess

I would go to Liveaquaria.com 2 week guarantee. They are prone to ich but I would never by a fish that had ich. Even though they are prone to it does not mean you can keep them from getting it...
