I was wandering that and found a wealth of information here:

http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...readid=1037172

The Hommby seems to be the same as the Aquatraders www.aquatraders.com which is 20 bucks cheaper. The guy at reefcentral took apart the aquatraders light and it checked it out with tons of pictures. He is running it now and likes it as are others. I'm buying mine today for my new 75 gallon tank.

I run a Hamilton Retrofit fixture myself and wouldnt have it any other way but a very good friend of mine has the 48" 2x250hqi with power compacts fixture from hommby and he's pretty happy with it, his tank and corals look GREAT, so if thats what you can afford I say go for it, those fixture just get better and better as the time goes on, they keep improving all the faults with em

HTH some

I've placed the order today. I just cant spend the extra bucks right now on premium lights and a good protien skimmer. I went with the good skimmer and lights that should be "good enough" for a while. If I don't like them they will be easy to change.

Eric

I just bought that Jebo outfit about a week ago from that ebay vendor. When you say burned out do you mean the bulbs themselves or the hood unit? I was real excited to get it for the price I did ($122.50 plus shipping) and am real happy so far with the three plugs/switches and the way it makes the tank look. Just a bit worried going forward.

Thanks!!

Mattie

Default ebay MH

I bought a 450w MH light with reflector, ballast, and 20K bulb for $130 after shipping. The ballast is used but seems to work just fine.
