| Ready to bring your first fish home? Your CUC? Your corals? You need to understand the stress your fish has been through between shipment in a small bag and at your LFS. Some people do not worry about this, they just bring the fish home, float the bag for awhile and then fish is on his own. Doesn't always work so nicely. 24-48 hours later you got a floater. If I know in advance that I will be getting a fish or an invertebrate, I check my parameters in advance. When I get the fish, I start checking the LFS or online vendor's parameters and then I get to work. I have a small specimen box that works well for my purposes. I have used the drip method in the past, but usually I use shot glass acclimation...I'll explain later. Anywho...I am seeing a lot of posts where people are scratching their heads on this topic...not a good thing. | I am a long slow drip kind of guy.At least 4 times the volume of water the fish came in.I takes close to 2 hours.I use a piece of air line long enough to go from the bottom of the tank to the floor with a weight on one end and an air valve on the other for flow control.I never put any of the dripped water in the tank.If the temps arnt close I will float the noob in zip loc just before I put it in the tank.If there is ever a place in your reef regimine to over do it without consequence this is it.And how about that becky, finding multiple uses for a shot glass lol. |

| This is what I have. Easy to use. I was going to give a personal visual after buying my latest addition, but he was spazzing out and just about every light in the area was killed...at 9 PM, so it was a bit too dark. Pisces Pro Acclimator Forgot to take pictures of my shot glasses. I'll get that later. |
