live rock

I started with FO tank then went to FOWLR. Had 40lbs of base rock and 45lbs of live rock, had tank running for 3 years could never get coralline algae to spread. Now trying to make it a full reef tank, add a couple of fresh pieces of live rock to try and make it spread, and it's the same thing as before it looks like its just disappearing. Could the crabs be picking it off.

My parameters are fine even took sample to local fish store to double check. Just stared to use phosban and chemi-pure because i get lot of red slime algae. Also on second bottle of purple up. I need ideas?

List your tank parameters for me please, including CA and ALK levels.
What type of lighting are you using? PC?
