Default Am I ready

How do I know if I am ready for an anenome? What are first time pitfalls to look out for?

Learn to read and research on your own. Then you will be ready.

Otherwise: How long your tank been up and running, what kind of light do you have, what are your tank parameters and set up, what other critters do you currently have. Thats for starters. Scroll down and read the clown fish and anemones threads. After that you can start reading here:

Anemones

Lots of info out there! Read Read Read!!!

Jim first off love the new quote. Second as far as the question goes....Anemones need very good lighting probably at least an MH or T5. Also they move around allot so if you have any stinking corals in your tank you may want to reconsider. Anemoes also need moderate to heavy flow and they will find a spot where they are most comfotable with the light and flow. Getting an anemone just becuase their "neat" or becuase you have a clown is not a good reason. Anemones need mature tanks and a experienced handler. I'd say the one that needs the least amount of work....but still tons in my honest opinion is the Bubble Tip. Look on wet web media for a terrific article. Clown can also host in I believe ricordia mushrooms but don't quote me on that...i know they can host in another type of coral I just remember if it's that or not. Bottom line anemones are delicate creatures that should not be bought and then left to die.
