Default advise on tank-got new filters

I have a 75G tank(6months old), canister, UG filter, crushed corral. 2 tangs, 2 damsils, feather duster, various crabs and sally lightfoots. 2-65watt 10Kbulbs and 2-65W Blue, plus the night leds.

I am converting it over to sand bed and wet dry-going to dump the CC, canister, undergravel, and damsils.. Got a aqua clear pro 75 on the way. Need to get a pump? Im on a budget here so cheaper is better. What is a good choice here.

Now for the sand, What is a reasonable price and amount (LBS) to buy. Certain kind? What do you think of the black sand?

Is it possible to buy say 40-50% sand at a local hardware store and mix it with live sand from pet store.. this is probably bad huh-seen it in another post

As far as sand goes you should have 1-2 lbs per gal. Ive never used the black so I dont know on that. I bought my sand at the lfs it was live and I cant remember the name of it but anyway I think it was about$40 for 20 pounds. How much LR do you have that will be a factor too.

Not too sure about the 1-2lbs/gallon, but 3-4 inches is the quote I usually see, could be wrong.

If you want non live sand I would still buy at pet store. Check out online pet stores.
