what should the pH be at in a saltwater tank. mine rite now is at 8.4,is that fine or is it too high?

You should be fine there. Look at this and save it to your documents. then you will have it for reference.

I run right at about 8.

Lowest part of the scale would be 7.8 is the rock bottom...8 to 8.1 is fine.

where is your Calcium at, and your Alk level?
8.4 leaves you zero margin for error, so be careful if you are dosing any product IE: Randy's 2 part (Especially if you bake your baking soda) or Kalkwasser.
