| is there anyone in the chicagoland area who can lend me or sell me some RO/DI fresh water for top off, i just need about 5 gallons worth, and my guy who usually sells it to me is out of town

| You could go to walmart to get distilled water in the gallon jugs temporarily, till the guy who sells you water gets back in town.
